Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Nexus Family is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what that means, in plain language.

What we collect: essentially nothing

Nexus runs on your device. Your family's calendar, preferences, photos you choose to share, and other information are processed on your device and stored in your own iCloud (Apple's CloudKit private database). The developer cannot access this data. We do not operate servers that receive your family's information, we do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We include no third-party analytics, ad, or tracking software.

Apple services

Nexus uses Apple's iCloud/CloudKit to sync your data across your own devices and, if you choose, to share with family members you invite. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and is not accessible to us.

Photos & Contacts

If you use photo or contact features, processing happens on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks. Nexus only accesses the specific photos you pick; it does not read your whole library.

Optional third-party AI (bring your own)

If you choose to enable an external AI provider with your own account or key, the content you send for that feature is transmitted to that provider (for example, Anthropic or Google) under their terms, to fulfill your request. This feature is off by default and is clearly indicated when it is on.

Health data

If you enable Health features, your health data stays on your device and in your private iCloud; it is never sent to the developer or to third parties.

Children

Nexus Family is a family app used under a parent or guardian's account. It is not directed at children for independent sign-up and does not knowingly collect data from children outside the family's own account.

Your control

You can delete your data at any time from within the app, or by deleting the app and removing its data from your iCloud settings.
